LAUSANNE – As FISU continues to spearhead education through sport, it announces the first of many scholarship opportunities it offers to university athletes around the world. Applications to the prestigious Dream Together scholarship at the Seoul National University, Korea, are now open for the academic year starting September 2020.

Chidiebere Ezeani with FISU President Oleg MatytsinThe Dream Together Master is a full scholarship graduate programme funded by the Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) and the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation (KSPO). It is a unique opportunity to hone sports management skills in a multicultural environment and every year, FISU presents candidates for this scholarship.

Last year, Chidiebere Ezeani of Nigeria and Razif Sazali of Malaysia were awarded the scholarships for the sixth edition of the Dream Together Master programme.

Ezeani, a mass communication undergraduate and FISU Young Reporters Programme alumna from Gwangju 2015 says “Most importantly, the programme creates a network of professionals that become family. Working with people from different nations, backgrounds and social outlook definitely prepares one for leadership as you learn to navigate different opinions.”

“The DTM programme has given me a new family of sports professionals who have a passion for developing sports throughout the world,” Razif Sazali agrees wholeheartedly. “Believe it or not, having different nationalities in the class has generated a lot of ideas that can be applied for sports development in my home country.”

DTM scholarship recipients Ezeani and SazaliSazali also has a word of advice for the next batch of DTM students. “If you really want to explore and gain a lot of knowledge on how to be a future sports leader, this is the time,” he says. “If you are ready to mold the future of sports, fill your application instantly!”

“The academic standard of the program is very high,” adds Ezeani. “Our professors are the at the very top of the chain. It doesn’t get better than being taught by men and women who have authored textbooks used in various universities in the world. We are challenged daily with projects, simulations and external lectures from world leaders such as Dr Ban Ki-Moon.”
