Ponta Negra beach warms up as international host with Tuesday’s night’s  Opening Ceremony will be held on Tuesday in the evening, at 9pm (Brasília time), as teams parade into the competition grounds. The ceremonies take place right after the Brazilian University Beach Games, the last national event of the Brazilian University Sports Confederation (CBDU) 2017 season.

Brazil will be represented by the teams that participated in the Brazilian University Beach Games, and teams from the universities of Amazonas, representing the host state.

In the third edition of the event, Luciano Cabral, president of Brazil’s University Sport Confederation highlighted the state of Amazonas. “We believe that, because it is in Manaus, a river beach, this arouses the curiosity of the countries, to know the region. The whole world has a great interest in the Amazon, and this was a great positive factor to also attract the attention of the participants.”
