FISU America announces 1st Pan-American University Sport Congress

PUERTO LA CRUZ – FISU America, Venezuelan University Sport Federation, Simón Rodríguez Experimental National University, Venezuelan Olympic Committee, together with the Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the Government of Anzoátegui State, will host the first “Pan-American Congress of University Sport FISU America 2017 “, which will be held in Puerto La Cruz city, from April 24 to 26, 2017.

The university sport of the American continent has had an important development inside the countries of FISU America. For the first time in the history of this continental organization directors of sports, rectors, coaches, student athletes, representatives Governmental organizations and personalities linked to university sport will have the opportunity to exchange their experiences and expand their knowledge about the different aspects of the sports environment in which they work.

This FISU America Forum will meet every two years to discuss University Sport, combining academic sessions with cultural, educational and recreational activities.

The main objective of the FISU America Forum is to share ideas and knowledge on key issues related to the development of sports and university athletes in the Americas, and to improve the knowledge of its members about the mission of FISU America and its priorities.

It will include areas such as Sports Management and Sports Policies, Sports and Human Development, Anti-doping, Training, Medicine and Psychology, among others.
