FASU Board Meeting in Yaoundé

FASU Board meets in Yaoundé, Cameroon

 

YAOUNDE All eyes are set on Cameroon, as the members of the Executive Board of FASU (2010-2014) started their third meeting February 8th, 2012 at Hotel Des Deputés inYaoundé,Cameroon.

Day one of the meeting kicked off with a word from the president, who encouraged the board to work hard towards the development of University Sports inAfrica. Minutes of the previous meeting and the secretariat report were presented by the Secretary General and approved.

On day two, saw the official opening of the Executive meeting in the board room of Hotel des Deputés with welcome remarks from prominent leaders from the National Olympic Committee of Cameroon, Ministry of Higher education, and the President of the Cameroonian National University Sports Federation (FENASU). This official opening attracted a lot of media interest.

The Executive Board proceeded to cover matters concerning finances, constitution, commissions, strategic plan, 6th FASU Games in Dakar 2012, FASU regional reports and the formation of the Central Region.

Board meeting in session

Members of the Executive are expected to oversee the process of the formation of the Central African Regional organisation. Delegates from this region have already arrived and are meeting at the offices of the FENASU at the Ministry of Higher Education to discuss the way forward in preparation for the official launch of a new regional board.

“We look forward to welcoming our new regional association” said the President of FASU, Dr. Malumbete RALETHE.
