The tasks of the CMI are the following: a) to ensure obedience to the technical rules, in force, of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and the International Sports Federations on a medical field, for international sporting events (anti-doping control, medical supervision of competitions, etc.). b) to cooperate especially with the Medical Committee of the IOC, the FIMS (International Sports Medicine Federation), the Medical Committee of the FSI and the WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency). c) to help the organisers of the sporting events of F.I.S.U. to ensure the obedience to regulations concerning the appropriate medical controls. d) in cooperation with the CESU, to promote the scientific study of the university sport by all appropriate measures and to support mass physical and sports activity among students.

The mains tasks of the Education Committee is to:

• Promote the scientific study of university sport through conferences, forums, reports, publications, lectures and all other appropriate measures (Article 138)
• Gather knowledge about university sport and to establish knowledge management for/about university sport
• Support the continual improvement of the quality of national and local university sport through sharing of its outputs
• Engage with and/or support through partnerships both internal FISU Committees in educational matters, and external organisations which promote similar educational objectives to those of FISU
• Advise on the management and support of contracted relationships between FISU and other agencies (universities, foundations, external agencies) through which FISU aims to benefit its members through the education-sport mix
• Take an active part in educational events (conferences, congresses, seminars,…) organised by national or international agencies in order to present and promote FISU aims and goals
