President Leonz Eder and President Fu Hua signed a Memorandum of Understanding on 25 February at the FISU headquarters in Lausanne, reinforcing the coverage of university sports in China and the world.
An important delegation from Xinhua News Agency, one of the leading media agencies in the world, visited the Synathlon building on Lausanne University campus, where the International University Sports Federation has its headquarters.
They were welcomed by FISU President Leonz Eder, FISU Chief Sports Officer Shen Zhen, FISU Chief of Staff Hanspeter Waegli, FISU Head of Communications Marianela O’Mahoney and FISU Communications Operations Senior Manager Thérèse Courvoisier.
Both parties exchanged thoughts and plans in a meeting before putting pen to paper.

“Today, we welcome you in our home”, said FISU President Leonz Eder. “This is an important milestone to reinforce even further our collaboration not only with China, but with one of the great media agencies. In today’s world, communication, and more importantly precise, professional and ethical information are key to anyone’s success. Thank you for your interest in university sports.”
This Memorandum of Understanding strengthens the collaboration between Xinhua and FISU, as the Chinese agency is extremely keen to cover all sports activities, “especially university sport”, insisted President Fu Hua.

The next FISU Winter Universiade will take place from 15-25 January 2027 in Changchun and the Jilin Province, China will provide the agency with many excellent stories to stare with the world.
