On the afternoon of 18 December 2025, FISU Secretary General Matthias Remund met with Jon Wyatt, Secretary General of World Triathlon at the FISU headquarters.
The two sides reviewed the long-standing collaboration and fruitful cooperation between the two federations in the field of university triathlon competitions. Both parties highly commended each other’s remarkable contributions to the development of the triathlon discipline within university sports. They also engaged in in-depth discussions on the future development direction of this sport, exploring new pathways for joint efforts.
Initiate and innovate
Upholding the core strategy of innovation and pioneering spirit, FISU expressed its eagerness to join hands with World Triathlon in launching new event initiatives, and to organise a diverse range of sports events that resonate with university students, further promoting the popularisation and advancement of youth sports across the globe.
The next joint event on both World Triathlon and the International University Sports Federation’s calendars is the Nyon 2026 FISU World University Championship Triathlon that will take place on 8-9 August in Switzerland.
