The meeting marked a follow up to FISU Secretary General/CEO Matthias Remund’s visit to Beijing in June 2025.
A five-member delegation led by Zhang Jian, President of Beijing Sport University (BSU), paid an official visit to the headquarters of the International University Sports Federation (FISU) in Lausanne on Tuesday 15 December. The delegation was warmly received by FISU Secretary General and CEO Matthias Remund, Deputy Secretary General Fernando Parente, Chief Sports Officer Shen Zhen, and Education and Development Senior Manager Bertrand Fincoeur.
The meeting marked a follow-up to Secretary General Matthias Remund’s visit to BSU last June, fostering continuous dialogue between the two sides. During the constructive discussions, both parties exchanged in-depth views on key cooperation areas including the FISU Healthy Campus Programme – an initiative dedicated to enhancing the wellbeing of students and campus communities worldwide – the future FISU Master Programmes, upcoming competitions, and talent cultivation in sports. A special focus was placed on leveraging the opportunity of the 33rd Winter Universiade Changchun to promote the global development of university sports.

In the evening, FISU President Leonz Eder hosted a courtesy reception for President Zhang Jian and the BSU delegation, where fruitful and friendly consultations were held to further align on future collaboration priorities. The visit reinforced the long-standing partnership between BSU and FISU, laying a solid foundation for advancing international university sports cooperation and ensuring the success of upcoming events.
