Nobody was able to knock the Lithuanians off their throne: they claimed a third FISU University World Cup victory in a row, beating the locals from Paulista University in the final. Canada’s players were crowned this years’ queens after finishing second in 2024.


Can you still feel the energy that radiated from Brasilia between 14-16 November? The Brasilia 2025 FISU University World Cup 3×3 Basketball really lived up to the highest expectations in terms of sport, enthusiasm, sportsmanship and of course atmosphere and fun!

Quarter, semis and finals all took place on the same day under the iconic TV Tower in Brasilia. And to add yet another level of adrenalin, student-athletes also competed individually in the shootout competition.
Lorena Segura Moreno from the University of Valencia and Gabriel Soto from the University of Chile won in their respective categories.
Women’s tournament
After finishing second last year, Carleton University managed to claim the title this year after defeating Ukraine’s Vasyl Stefanyk University 16-11 in the final. It was great to see three continents represented on the podium as Uganda Christian University finished third, beating Huazhong University of Science and Technology from China 18-15 in the bronze medal game.

Men’s tournament
Vytautas Magnus University were on a cloud throughout the event, winning all their games with 21 points! The recent Rhine-Ruhr 2025 FISU World University Games 3×3 basketball champions with Lithuania flew once again higher than everyone else. They didn’t give the slightest chance to home team Paulista University, despite the crazy support from the crowd, beating them 21-12.
The bronze medal game opposing the University of Melbourne to the University of Valencia finished on the same score, with the Australians adding yet another continent to the event’s podiums.

Great atmosphere
Once more, this event proved hod much Brazil loves its sports. The atmosphere and the show were sizzling hot and everyone who participated, from the volunteers to the teams, will for sure remember this CBDU masterpiece
