The last EC meeting of the year concludes with two nominations and a potential FISU Winter Games host

FISU Executive Office Manager Pandora Soultis, FISU President Leonz Eder, FISU Secretary General/CEO Matthias Remund, FISU Chief Sports Officer Shen Zhen and FISU Winter Games Director Milan Augustin gathered at FISU Headquarters for the online EC Meeting.

The FISU Executive Committee met for the last time in 2025 for an online meeting. The newly elected EUSA President Haris Pavletic participated for the first time as representative of the European continent.

The International University Sports Federation received an application from Jilin, China, to host the 2027 FISU World University Games Winter. The FISU Executive Committee authorised the FISU Steering Committee to review the application at the end of November and, if the conditions are met, to conclude the attribution contract.  

FISU Secretary General Matthias Remund announced the appointment of FISU’s current Head of Marketing Communications, Marianela O’Mahony, as the new Head of Communications. The merger of marketing communication and corporate communication is intended to increase the visibility of FISU and enable more agile, coherent and efficient communication in the future.

Delise O’Meally is FISU’s new Head of Higher Education Relationships and FISU Master.

The member of the Executive Committee, Delise O’Meally was appointed as the new Head of Higher Education Relationships and FISU Master. She will be responsible for managing and developing the major challenges in the area of FISU Master development and maintaining relationships with higher educational institutions.

As a result of taking on this operational management role, Delise O’Meally has resigned from the Executive Committee. President Leonz Eder thanked Delise for her valuable service to FISU and is delighted to have her on board as part of the operational management team.   

Finally, the FISU President thanked the CBDU, its President Alim Maluf Neto and the First Vice-President of FISU, Luciano Cabral, who are organising the Brasilia 2025 FISU University World Cup 3×3 Basketball in Brazil to conclude this busy and successful competition year.
