After winning two gold and two silver medals at the Rhine-Ruhr 2025 FISU World University Games in July, the Japanese gymnast captured his third men’s all-around gold medal on 22 October at the 2025 World Gymnastics Championships in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Nick-named Mister Infinite Stamina, 24-year-old Daiki Hashimoto rules the world of artistic gymnastics after being crowned all-round mens world champion last Wednesday. This is his third in a row all-round world champion title after taking the gold in Liverpool (2022) and in Antwerpen (2023).
A record at Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games
At the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, Hashimoto became the youngest male gymnast to win this event at the age of 19 years and 355 days. He struck gold at the horizontal bar in his home country and added an Olympic gold medal to his collection winning the team event in Paris 2024, but a fall cost him the podium in the all-found individual final.
A top performance in Chengdu
It was at the Chengdu 2023 FISU World University Games that the Japanese student from Juntendo University delivered one of the best performances in his career, scoring 88.698 in the men’s team final and qualified for floor, pommel horse, parallel bar and horizontal bar finals. However, some mistakes from his teammates dragged Japan to 2nd place. During the all-around final, Hashimoto, who ranked 1st in qualification, clashed his head as he fell from the pommel horse and was forced to withdraw from the rest of the competition.

At the top of his game in Rhine-Ruhr 2025

Daiki Hashimoto was keen to do better two years later at the recent Rhine-Ruhr 2025 FISU World University Games. In Essen, the fabulous gymnast claimed gold in the team event and in the all-round competition as well as silver medals on the horizontal bar and pommel horse.
Hashimoto's performances in Germany
2025 has been an exceptional year for the 24-year-old who will take part to the horizontal bar final in Jakarta on 24 October 2025.
