FISU Marketing Director Jukka-Pekka Vuori, Winter Games Director Milan Augustin, Senior Sports Manager Paola Matringe and Junior Sports Manager Luca Valenza made the short trip from Lausanne to Zurich to discuss further ice hockey collaboration with university sports.
The FISU delegation travelled to the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) headquarters in Zurich to meet with Director General and Deputy Director General Matti Nurminen and Deputy Director General/Event Director Hannes Ederer.

After a warm welcome, the FISU and IIHF representatives held a fruitful meeting, discussing common topics like past ice hockey experiences at FISU events, the outcome of the last Torino 2025 FISU World University Games as well as current and future collaboration between ice hockey and university sports.
The mutual exchanges were friendly and constructive and of course mutually appreciated.
“Our meeting at the IIHF HQ in Zurich was really insightful”, commented Winter Games Director, Milan Augustin. “We had a constructive discussion on collaborations and we are optimistic about the potential for growth in the future. Both parties deeply value the information exchange, which we believe will be pivotal in shaping the future of ice hockey in the university student-athlete community.”
