After winning their second game on the same impressive score of 4-0, this time against Brazil’s University of the Extreme South of Santa Catarina, Shanghai University of Sport’s women’s team are already qualified for the semi-finals on 25 September.
After a really busy second day, “only” three matches were scheduled on the 3rd day of the Dalian 2025 FISU University World Cup football. The first game of the day, and the only one set in the morning, opposed the University of the Extreme South of Santa Catarina from Brazil to the “locals* from the Shanghai University of Sport.

And just like on the opening night against the Spaniards of the University of Valencia, the Chinese scored four goals with their goalkeeper keeping a clean sheet. Not only did they take the lead of Group A, but they are sure to play the semi-finals on 25 September.
In the evening, at 19h local time, four teams from group B showcased football from four continents: Europe with Polytechnic University of Hauts-de France (FRA) against Asia with Beijing Normal University (CHN) – the Chinese defeated the French 2-0 – and America with Laval University from Canada opposed to Oceania with the University of Sydney.

The Canadians also managed a beautiful victory 4-0, which takes them to the first place of their group thanks to their better goal average.
Eight matches are programmed on 20 September, the International Day of University Sport, as the men’s tournament is now in full swing. Who will be in the lead after two games?
