234 medal events
At Rhine-Ruhr 2025, a total of 234 medal events will take place across various sports, celebrating the achievements of student-athletes from around the world. In recognition of these accomplishments, approximately 2,150 medals are being produced, each crafted to reflect the spirit and values of the FISU World University Games.
The exterior of the box – the Ruhr Region as a stage
The design incorporates defining elements of the region and is based on the Rhine-Ruhr 2025 Torch. The crown, with its 18 prongs, represents sporting excellence and the diversity of disciplines. Curved lines echo the silhouettes of spoil tips and waterways – symbols of transformation and culture. Six bold contours, inspired by mining structures, stand for strength, heritage, the six host cities of the FISU Games 2025 and rough-edged charm in general.
