The International University Sport Federation’s delegation spent nine days in Korea holding key meetings but also visiting key Games facilities including competition and training venues, and the FISU Games Village construction site.
The Chungcheong 2027 FISU World University Games Organising Committee President Changhee Kang announced on 19 May that the International University Sports Federation (FISU) successfully concluded its nine-days visit to the Chungcheong region, held from 11 to 19 May.
The visit included on-site inspections of major facilities and in-depth coordination and discussions across key functional areas such as planning, accommodation, and transportation.

Matthias Remund, FISU Secretary General and CEO, made his first official visit to the Organising Committee since taking office. He toured the main FISU Games Village in Sejong, the closing ceremony venue (Sejong Central Park), and the artistic and rhythmic gymnastics venue construction site (Cheongju Multipurpose Indoor Gymnasium.). He commented, “Chungcheong’s time is coming. We will continue to provide concrete and practical feedback through detailed inspections to help ensure the success of the Games.”
Andrzej Hrehorowicz, Table Tennis Technical Committee Chair, visited the Government Complex Sejong Gymnasium and positively evaluated the facility, officially confirming it as the venue for table tennis competition and training. He remarked, “I will continue offering technical guidance to support the successful hosting of the Games.”

The FISU Summer Games Department also conducted meetings with the Organising Committee, outlining key preparation items and exchanging practical insights to strengthen Games preparations. This served as an opportunity to reaffirm the Organising Committee’s capabilities and the strong commitment of its staff.
Lee Changseop, the Organising Committee Vice-President concluded, “With around 800 days remaining until the Games, this visit provided valuable and practical feedback. We will continue to consolidate the strengths of the Chungcheong region to deliver an inspiring and successful Games for university athletes worldwide.”
