The Rhine-Ruhr 2025 FISU World University Games is the biggest multi-sport event of the year in Germany and offer much more than just sporting competition. In addition to a top-class international field of student-athletes, you can expect a multi-faceted major sporting event that combines sport, science, music and culture.

The expected 8500 student-athletes from 150 countries that will be welcomed by mascot Wanda all have unique stories to tell, as they excel both in their studies and in their sport. They deserve coverage as not only they might be the future top athletes in their sport, but also tomorrow’s leaders, occupying key roles in their communities. They are great role models for the future generations and will inspire many to lead a healthy, well-balanced lifestyle.

12 days of great potential stories

But the FISU World University Games aren’t only about sport and the 18 disciplines in 23 venues. They are much more than that, adding education with the FISU World Conference and culture to the whole experience, from 16-27 July 2025.

So whether you chose to be based in Berlin for volleyball, swimming in diving or in the Rhine-Ruhr region for all other sports, please don’t waste any time and apply for your accreditation.

Please use the media accreditation form (link below). The media accreditation is required by anyone conducting onsite media coverage of the event in the form of storytelling, news reporting, photography, videography, broadcasting, etc. This includes media professionals such as:

• Written press (news agencies, magazines, newspapers, online media)
• Photographers
• Non-Rights-Holding Broadcasters (the TV and radio companies who are engaged in producing video news highlights)
• Media departments of institutions (such as sports federations, sports clubs, venues, host cities, universities, partners)
• Influencers/Bloggers
