Today is the seventh edition of the International Day of University Sport!
Running annually since 2016, IDUS is supported by UNESCO and shares the same date as the very first Student World Championships in 1924. The internationally-recognised day highlights the importance of linking universities and their local communities together through sport, physical activity and healthy living.
“It’s a day of celebration, not only for universities and higher education students but also for their local communities,” said FISU Acting President Leonz Eder. “It is an opportunity to try new sports, to engage in local or traditional customs and recognize that sports play an important role in our lives.”
