At last year’s Summer Universiade, more than 10,000 participants from 134 countries took part, making it the biggest sports event in Taipei’s history. The island also continues to be an attractive host for World University Championships (WUCs), with the island having just hosted Baseball for the second time earlier this month, and the world’s best university golfers coming in 2020.
During the meeting, Mr Matytsin and Mr Keng discussed the results of the recent WUC Baseball in Chiayi, which had the home team in the gold medal game against Japan. The FISU President also took the opportunity to extend his appreciation to the authorities of Chinese Taipei and expressed his hope for continued cooperation.
