FISU Winter Universiade Team meets Lucerne2021 OC for First Workshop

9 November 2016

LUCERNE – In March 2016 Lucerne-Central Switzerland was appointed as host of the 30th Winter Universiade. Since then Managing Director Urs Hunkeler started to form his Organising Committee, which met for the first FISU workshop at the headquarters of the Winter Universiade 2021 in Lucerne. Winter Universiade Director, Milan Augustin, opened the workshop expressing his joy about the choice of the host country for the 2021 Universiade. “Without Switzerland the University Sports would not be where it is today. Therefore, we are very happy that the Winter Universiade will come back to Switzerland after 59 years.”

The Chair of the International Technical Committee, Roger Roth, and the entire Winter Universiade team accompanied Milan Augustin to the workshop and introduced the Lucerne 2021 OC to the FISU, the Winter Universiade and very concretely and pragmatically to different functional areas. And soon enough the discussion turned around several ‘crucial points of planning’ as Lilia Barieva, Head of Knowledge Management Transfer, did put it.
