MASHHAD – From 18 to 25 July, the 13th edition of the Sport and Cultural Olympiad for women students was hosted at the Ferdowsi University of Mashhad in Mashhad, the capital of the Razavi Khorasan Province located in northeastern Iran. The event involved more than 2,500 women students from 150 universities of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology. The slogan of this Olympiad was ‘Education, Refinement and Sport’.
Tehran University won 11 gold, 7 silver and 4 bronze medals and amassed a total of 199 points landing on 1st place. The second place went to Ferdowsi Mashhad University winning 6 gold, 4 silver and 5 bronze medals and 169 points. Alzahra University ended on 3rd spot with 2 gold, 4 silver and 5 bronze medals and 85 points.
The event was organized in 8 sports, i.e. Volleyball, Basketball, Futsal, Table Tennis, Badminton, Taekwondo, Swimming and Athletics.
