FISU 1st Vice-President visits AUSF and FUSC HQ in Beijing

BEIJING – Invited by the Asian University Sports Federation (AUSF) and the Federation of University Sports of China (FUSC), Leonz Eder, FISU 1st Vice-President and CDSU Chair paid an official visit to the headquarters of AUSF and FUSC in Beijing, China.

On 10 May, a consultation meeting was held at the AUSF Education and Development Centre (EDC) which is located on the beautiful campus of the Capital University of Physical Education and Sports (CUPES).

After Dr. Zhong Bingshu, CUPES President and FISU EduC member, briefly introduced the mission, tasks and leading programmes of AUSF EDC, Leonz Eder explained in detail the vision of FISU in terms of its global strategy. All AUSF EDC staff members are very excited to know FISU will implement its priorities on Continental University Sports Federations (CUSFs) and National University Sports Federations (NUSFs) through activities such as celebrations of the International Day of University Sport (IDUS) and FISU leagues.

On 11 May, Leonz Eder paid a visit to AUSF and FUSC headquarters that employs 3 full time staff for AUSF and another 70 full time working staff for FUSC. AUSF and FUSC organize more than 140 sports events per year involving more than 50,000 student-athletes and officials from about 1,500 universities. On behalf of FISU President Oleg Matytsin, Leonz Eder congratulated the AUSF and FUSC delegates for the achievements and success in the world university sports movement.

In November this year, the AUSF General Assembly Meeting will be hosted in Xiamen City, China.
