
ALMATY –The 2nd Asian University Futsal Championship went on in the Baluan Sholak Sport Palace from April 24-26 for group competitions, on April 27th, which was also the last day, the 8 teams fought even harder for the final ranking.
4 magnificent matches caught the audience’s eyes
The first game was between Mongolia and China for the 7th place. The Mongolian scorer Usbold Altansul (13) opened the match with a beautiful shooting within just 4 minutes. But the Chinese team fought even harder afterwards and earned 2 scores by Huang Xin (4) and Shen Ximing (11). Finally, China beat Mongolia 2:1.
Then Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan fought for the 5th position. Turkmenistan didn’t leave any chance for its opponents, and made 3 successful shootings towards Kyrgyzstan’s gate. Therefore, Turkmenistan won the game with an absolute advantage.
Next, Kazakhstan Dostyk Team and Tajikistan strived for the 3rd place. After the first half, each team had scored 4 goals. The second half saw a stronger Kazakhstan Dostyk Team, and 3 more goals were shot in almost one minute, and they grabbed the bronze medal by 7:4.
The most important game of the championship, the final between the Kazakhstan national team and the Iran team kicked-off at 17:30. Despite the home advantage and great cheerleading supporters for Kazakhstan, Iran took full control of the game. A total of 12 scores were made solely by the Iranian team. Hence, the Iranian team boasted an overwhelming victory and also managed to defend the title in the 2nd Asian University Futsal Championship. Ali Ebrahimi (10) from Iran was incontrovertibly the best scorer of the championship.

Closing Ceremony: A wonderful taste of Kazakhstan culture
The Closing Ceremony was held just after the final. The bewitching traditional Kazakh folk song “Balbyrauyn” was performed by the national orchestra. Then the acrobats warmed up the atmosphere with energetic dancing.
MS. Roza Karimzhanova, the vice minister from Ministry of Education and Science of Kazakhstan, greeted all the participants on behalf of the Kazakhstan government. She then congratulated Iran’s great success. Finally, she wished everybody can have a chance to unite here again in the World University Futsal Championship in 2018.
Ha-Woong, AUSF auditorMr. HA Woong Yong, AUSF auditor as well as AUSF special representative to the championship, thanked the Ministry of Education and science of Kazakhstan and the Kazakhstan University Sports Federation for successfully holding the championship. Besides, he appreciated all the participating teams, especially most of the central Asian countries who participated in the AUSF championship for the first time. Moreover, he encouraged them to continue taking part in AUSF events.
Mr. Kayrat Zakiryanov, the president of the Kazakhstan University Sports Federation congratulated all teams for the great matches played and he wished all delegations a safe trip home.
