
LISBOA – On 5 April, the day that marks two years on the announcement of the winning bid of European Universities Games 2018 (EUG 2018), the four entities involved announced the members of the Organising Committee.
This Committee is composed of the Secretary General Mário Santos, from the University of Coimbra (UC), and the members Carlos Cidade, representing the City of Coimbra (CMC), João Carocha, designated by Associação Académica de Coimbra (AAC), and Ricardo Morgado, designated by the Portuguese University Sports Academic Federation (FADU).
The event will take place in July 2018 in Coimbra. Some five thousand young athletes from 40 countries are expected to participate in the Games. But before staging the EUG 2018, the Organising Committee is also host to the FISU World University Canoeing Championship, this year, followed by the European Universities Championships of Judo, Taekwondo and Karate, in 2017.
