BRUSSELS – The European Commission organised an InfoDay on 3 March to inform potential applicants about the funding programme ‘Erasmus+ Sport’ and the EU sport policy background. FISU was represented by the Development Department.
The event was opened by the European Commissioner for Education, Culture, Youth and Sport, Tibor Navracsics. Speakers also included senior executives from the European Commission and its Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency. They discussed the policy, gave advice and tips on preparing and submitting proposals, and provided support with the financial aspects of funding.

The total budget of Erasmus+ Sport for 2016 is 34.1 million euros. The priorities of the programme include the promotion of Dual Careers of athletes and of Gender Equality, the fight against doping and match-fixing, and the support to innovative educational approaches to contain violence and tackling racism and discrimination in sport. The deadline for submitting project proposals is 12 May 2016.
This programme gives the opportunity to various European sports stakeholders to collaborate, to exchange best practices and to initiate innovative projects.
