FISU meets New Executive Committee of FISU America

SAO PAULO – On the second day of the General Assembly of FISU America, Leonz Eder, FISU 1st Vice-President, and Laurent Briel, Development Director, met with the newly elected Executive Committee for a working session.

The attendants from FISU America were Alim Maluf Neto (BRA), President; Sandy Rodriguez (VEN), Secretary General; June Caddle (BAR), Eduardo Ramirez (PER), Luis Sterling (DOM) and America Alvarado Diaz (HON), Assessors.

During this meeting, the FISU 1st Vice-President expressed his great satisfaction about the way the General Assembly was conducted, with a peaceful atmosphere and respect to democratic principles. He also praised the new Executive Committee members for their enthusiasm and dynamism, which will help FISU America to take its legitimate position within the university sports movement. Then he presented the working procedure between FISU and FISU America and highlighted the importance of regular communication between the two entities to ensure close collaboration.

Among the topics on the agenda of this meeting were the following:

– Official contacts;

– Appointment of the representative of FISU America in the FISU Executive Committee;

– The work of KPMG and the audit of accounts;

– The 2016 projects;

– FISU Guidance for CUSFs;

– Support from the CUSF in the relations with NUSFs;

– Website;

– Calendar of events.

Other topics were also dealt with. According to the participants, this fruitful meeting showed the genuine collaboration existing between the two federations.
