New President for the OLL

BENNIE WARDI ELECTED AS PRESIDENT OF THE FINNISH STUDENT SPORTS FEDERATION

 

The General Assembly of the Finnish Student Sports Federation (OLL) has elected mr. Bennie Wardi as President for 2016. Bennie Wardi is a 25-year-old student from the Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences and is currently working as vice president at the Finnish Student Sports Federation.

 

The General Assembly also elected the Federation’s Board for the following year. Ms Marjukka Mattila from the Student Union of University of Jyväskylä and mr. Miran Hamidulla from the Student Union of University of Helsinki were elected as Vice Presidents. Pekka Petäkoski from the Student Union of Helsinki Metropolia University of Applied Sciences (METKA) was re-elected a Member of Board.

 

The General Assembly also adopted the strategy for the years 2016-2020 and action plan for the year 2016. The action plan emphasizes the implementation of a new strategy in order to strengthen the status of student sports and increase students’ physical activity in Finland. Another goal for 2016 is to increase the participation rates of National Student Championships.

 

The General Assembly also decided to accept new economic plan for the years of 2016-2020 and new equality plan. The aim of the equality plan is to improve equality in the functions and activities of Finnish Student Spots Federation.

 

The meeting gathered around 60 representatives from student unions and universities’ sports services in Nuuksio on November 12–13, 2015. The Finnish Student Sports Federation warmly congratulates the new Board and thanks all participants of the General Assembly.
