3×3 FISU World University League Final: Update 2

11 October 2015

XIAMEN – In the afternoon of 10 October, the whole venue was filled up with cheers and applause for the Women’s Shoot-out Qualification. The audiences cheered for every single shoot and were not disappointed by the players’ accuracy of throwing above the arc. With 6 points from 10 throws in less than 28 seconds, Jessica Genta from ETH Zurich (SUI) ranked first in the qualification. Jessica will play the Final of Shoot-out with Liu Yusen TUFE (CHN), Mayte Fernanda De Souza and Thaine Fernanda Andrade both from UNINASSAU (BRA).

In the rest of the Preliminary Round, the players tried their best to the very last second to earn the places of the next section of the tournament. “The game between the boys of Canada and France impressed me most”, said Martin Doulton, team official of Monash University (AUS). “It was really a tough game. And also, my team did a good job this afternoon.”

The Men’s Dunk Contest held in the evening lighted up the campus of Huaqiao University. The Kewyn Blain of UQAM (CAN) excited the spectators and won the most respect of the 3 juries. Igor Rossadiuk of SUITD (RUS), Alexandre Vialaret of University of Bordeaux (FRA) and Micheal Ouma Otieno of Ndejje University (UGA) got the rest 3 position of tomorrow’s final.
