XIAMEN – The 2015 World University Sports Seminar has been launched in Xiamen, China, with main topic the ‘International Day of University Sports’. This seminar was hosted to celebrate that the proposal of ‘International Day of University Sports’ has been put at the agenda of the next UNESCO General Assembly by the UNESCO Executive Board Meeting in the 196th meeting in Paris, France.
The proposal of setting an ‘International Day of University Sports’ was put forward by Mr. Hao Ping, Vice-Minister of the Ministry of Education of China and has to be approved by the General Assembly of UNESCO.

There were more than 40 FISU representatives from five continents and 100 plus teachers and students on site to discuss the future of the development of World University Sports and to discuss the future of sports development of international university students. During the seminar, 8 presidents of National University Sport Federations have delivered a keynote speech and shared their sparkling insight of the development of University sports with the audience. In addition, the Chinese Federation of University Sports and Honam University signed a MOU to promote the sports exchange between universities, campus football in particular.
