
PARIS – On Thursday, 17 September, the gold medallists of the2015 Gwangju Summer Universiade were received by Najat Vallaud-Belkacem, Minister of National Education, Higher Education and Research and Thierry Mandon, Secretary of State for Higher Education and Research.
Together with FFSU President Jean-François Sautereau and FFSU, National Director and Head of the French delegation in Gwangju Vincent Rognon, about thirty ‘golden’ athletes from four sports disciplines (women’s football, fencing, shooting and judo), along with their staff, were honoured at the premises of the State Secretariat for Higher Education (Paris 5th).

Several representatives of the partner-federations had also responded to the invitation: Isabelle Lamour (President of the French Fencing Federation), Brigitte Henriques (Secretary-General of the French Football Federation), Georges Honoré (President of the School and University Commission FFF) Jean-Claude Senaud (NTD French Judo Federation), Christian Peeters (NTD of the French Fencing Federation), Véronique L’Honen (Assistant NTD of the French Shooting Federation), and Frédérique Jossinet, the ‘godmother’ of ‘Les Bleus’ in Korea, who did not fail to remind the attendants how her medals at the Universiade had been a powerful springboard for the rest of her brilliant sports career.
Finally, the media partners of FFSU, Eurosport, Sportmag and Le Journal des Grandes Ecoles and Universités were also waiting to cover this beautiful evening, honouring the overall extraordinary performance of the French University Team in Gwangju.
