BRUSSELS – On 18 and 19 September, the Committee for the Development of University Sport (CDSU) had its last meeting before the FISU General Assembly in November. The meeting was chaired by Stefan BERGH (SWE) and vice-chaired by Alison ODELL (GBR). Four members also attended: Isaac Mwangi KAMANDE (KEN), Erik MICHALAK (FRA), Delise O’MEALLY (USA) and Johanna St. CLAIR-RENARD (SWE). Yanqing XUE (CHN) was excused. The Development Department was represented by Laurent BRIEL (BEL), Director Development and NUSF relations, and by Westley Rolin (FRA), Development Assistant.

The first main topic on the agenda was the project proposals of FISU America and FISU Oceania for 2016. The CDSU reviewed the projects and prepared recommendations. The second main topic was the preparation of the CDSU End of mandate report, to be presented to the General Assembly. It gives a comprehensive overview of the activities related to Development from 2011 to 2015.

The meeting ended by a brainstorming session to evaluate the achievements of the CDSU and to prepare key messages to be passed on to the next members of the committee.
