GRANADA – The 5-day observer programme that took place during the 27th Winter Universiade ended yesterday.
Delegations from the Winter Universiade Organizing Committees for 2017 (Almaty, KAZ) and 2019 (Krasnoyarsk, RUS) attended the presentations on the different sites.

In addition, representatives of the cities of Beijing and Lucerne, potential candidates for the organization of the 2021 Winter Universiade also followed the whole programme.
It should be recalled that during the first part of the Universiade, which was held in Slovakia, a first three-day session had already taken place.

This time, the emphasis was placed on the adequacy of the protagonists with the proposed programmes. Lilia Barieva, head of the FISU observer programme: “Indeed, it is counter-productive to force a group to attend all presentations. That is why when we address some specific issues, we deal with the persons who will actually be in charge of these issues during the event. During this time, the other delegates can go wherever they want to go, to actually live the games from within. We have had very positive feedback on the sessions. This is a crucial programme in the context of what is now called the transfer of knowledge. It is a fact that the organizers of our future events are in favour of such a programme. Everyone left very enthusiastic. For them, the information supplied was extremely helpful and I think we achieved our goal.”

Delegates had access to presentations covering all areas of the organization such as accreditation, protocol, media services, medical services, services to delegations, marketing, branding, timing and scoring, IT and, of course, anything that relates to sports with various site visits and meetings with the directors of sports operations.
