FISU and PERFORM Extend Coverage of University Games
Live and on-demand streaming platform provides free coverage to global viewers
LAUSANNE – PERFORM, the world’s leading digital sports content group, announced that it will deliver live and on-demand coverage of the upcoming Winter Universiade on behalf of FISU. The announcement marks the renewal of a media services agreement between PERFORM and FISU for an additional four years, with PERFORM having provided streaming, content management, marketing and promotional services for FISU TV since 2011.
The new agreement will see PERFORM build and manage the live/VOD FISU TV streaming platform, delivering free-to-view news and live event coverage from FISU championships and competitions, as well as distribution of content across ePlayer, PERFORM’s industry leading sports VOD platform that reaches more online global sports fans than any other.
The upcoming Winter Universiade will be the fourth that PERFORM has provided video coverage for and takes place across two venues – events from 24th January to 1st February will be broadcast from Strbske Pleso and Osrblie, Slovakia and those from 4th to 14th February take place in Granada, Spain.
Dejan Susovic, Media & Communications Director at FISU, commented: “We are passionate about encouraging competition and sporting spirit amongst universities, and as we continue to make our events greater on each occasion, we are pleased to be able to bring enhanced coverage of the events to viewers and fans around the world. With the help of PERFORM we have continued to develop our online presence and broadcast great coverage of our events, and we look forward to extending this partnership for a further four years.”
Gareth Rees, New Business Director, PERFORM, added: “FISU Universiades have a significant and loyal follower base and we are delighted to broaden and extend the digital reach of the games so people from around the world can feel closer to the action, wherever they are. We have enjoyed a successful partnership with FISU to date and we look forward to delivering more fantastic action and coverage in the coming years.”
