TEHERAN – On the invitation of the National University Sports Federation of IRAN, Dr. Verena Burk, FISU Assessor and Chair of the FISU Media and Communication Committee visited the Iranian University Sport Federation on 8 December, 2014. She was welcomed by Dr. Mohammad Pourkiani, NUSF President and Dr. Mohammadreza Dehkhoda, International Relations Deputy.
She had an inspection visit of the facilities of the NUSF and met all different departments of the federation including the Sport Science Research Institute, Public Relations Department, International Relations Department, Finance Department and Secretariat.
In the fruitful discussion, Dr. Dehkhoda introduced the NUSF’s national and international activities and Dr. Pourkiani described the federation’s programmes planned for the coming years. He also asked FISU to support Iran in university sports activities and talked about a close cooperation of Iran and the Asian University Sport Federation. Dr. Pourkiani emphasized that the Iranian University Sport Federation as a member of FISU is ready to host championships, Science and Education Seminars as well as Media Seminars according the aims and philosophy of FISU.
At the end, Dr. Burk thanked the hosts for their hospitality and in general Iranian hospitality. “FISU is looking forward to welcome more university teams and students from Iran in FISU events” she concluded.
