The sport manager of the Armenian Students Sport Federation (ArmSSF) Mr Hovhannes Gabrielyan informed that the event was very interesting and that they are trying to develop futsal in Armenia. Mr Gabrielyan also noted that the 15th edition of the students sport games was remarkable by both the number of participants and the number of sport events. This year, they introduced new sports – shooting and judo – for the first time. Altogether, more than 3,500 participants from 21 public and private Armenian universities competed in the Games. 12 championships were organized covering 9 sports. The Games were organized by the cooperation of the Armenian Student Sports Federation, the Ministry of Education and Science of Armenia and the Armenian Youth Federation. This year, additional attention was given to the high qualifications of the referees. In all sports there was a cooperation with the national federations that put the championships on a high level. The 4th award ceremony of the best students-athletes will be held shortly. Also the Armenian chess players who brought home medals from the World University Chess Championship will be awarded at that occasion. The Armenian Student Sports Federation is actively involved in FISU and EUSA projects. In cooperation with FISU a volunteer program is being run, supported also by the Youth Foundation of Armenia.
