LAUSANNE – Evelyn Watta (KEN), a member of the FISU Media and Communication Committee, has received the prestigious ‘CNN Africa Journalist of the Year Award’. Watta was declared the winner of the sports category on Saturday night 18 October during the awarding ceremony in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania that was also attended by the head of state President Jakaya Kikwete.
The CNN Multichoice African Journalist Awards are reserved for the best in the profession on the African continent. Watta, one of the few Kenyan journalists to make the usually challenging shift from broadcast media to online journalism, writes for www.sportsnewsarena.com.
