PODGORICA – The Students Sports Association of Montenegro (SSAM), member of FISU since 2007, has launched a project entitled “Game Set Move and Play” to promote the participation of women in sports activities.
A big hiking tour was organised in September in Bjelasica, in which 200 students participated. Over 150 students participated in a biking tour combined with a hiking class and Nordic walking. Drago Vujovic, a famous Montenegrin mountaineer, took part in these activities. By the end of October, tennis, basketball, volleyball and badminton weekends will take place.
The project also involves advice on training, healthy lifestyles and nutrition, made available on the website www.tricetirisad.me, Facebook and YouTube. Some Montenegrin top athletes are promoting the project as well.
This project is co-funded by FISU through its support scheme to NUSF projects, introduced this year. By working together in close collaboration with public authorities, the main university centres, FISU and other sports stakeholders, SSAM is making an important contribution in favour of women’s empowerment and sport for all.
