SALVADOR – Brazil is about to host another FISU event in 2014, its third this year. Indeed, from 18 to 21 September, the city of Salvador, Bahia, will be the battleground for the 2nd edition of the World University 3×3 Basketball Championship. Student-athletes from 12 countries (Brazil, China, Slovenia, Israel, Japan, Nepal, Russia, France, Uganda, Italy, Serbia and Romania) are confirmed to take part in the men’s and women’s tournament. The matches will take place at the Gymnasium “Parque Jardim dos Namorados”, located on Av. Otávio Mangabeira, Pituba, in Salvador. The first delegations will start to arrive this Sunday, 14 September, at the city’s international airport.
The inaugural edition of this WUC was held two years ago, in Kragujevac, Serbia. Besides hosting the competition this year, Brazil will participate for the first time in this WUC and will count on the support of the local crowd. All matches will have free admission for the public. But for those who will not be able to watch the games at the venue, don’t worry because the whole championship will be livestreamed on www.cbdu.org.br and wc.cbdu.org.br. The 2nd World University Championship 3×3 Basket is organized by the Brazilian University Sport Association, in partnership with FISU and with the support from the Ministry of Sport of Brazil and the Brazilian Basket Association.
