YEREVAN – The Armenian Student Sports Federation (ArmSSF), member of FISU since 1995, has launched its project entitled “Volunteers Education and Training” with the support of FISU.
Through this project, ArmSSF is training approximately 100 students who will work as volunteers during the European Universities Chess Championship held in Yerevan in October 2015. They will work in different areas: sport venues, transport, accommodation and catering, attachés, communication, award ceremonies, liaison with the European University Sports Association, etc.

From 18 to 24 August, the volunteers that were chosen during the preparatory period helped ArmSSF to organise a national sports and cultural events, gathering more than 500 participants. Approximately 100 students were selected for the next phase of training. The event, supervised by Hovhannes Gabrielyan, Sport Manager at ArmSSF, gave the participants the opportunity to know more about international university sport.
This project is co-funded by FISU through its support scheme for NUSF projects, introduced this year. Thanks to a close collaboration with the Youth Foundation of Armenia, ArmSSF provides good quality training sessions to future volunteers that will ensure an excellent level of organisation of the European Universities Chess Championship in 2015.
