ANTEQUERA – Yesterday, Friday 18 July, at the 14th World University Futsal Championship it became clear which teams would move to the semi-finals in the men’s competition, i.e. Iran, Russia, Brazil and Belarus. Host Spain did not qualify. In its thriller match against Belarus, the dominated the pitch, and went to the break with a 2-0 advantage. However, in the second half Spain went on the offensive and managed a tie in the last 4 seconds. Unfortunately for the hosts, they lost on penalties (1-3).
In the women’s competition Spain, Brazil, Portugal and Russia are set for the semi-finals.
