7th FASU Games 2014 Updates: Scientific Conference

NAIROBI – The second day of the African Games was mainly devoted to the scientific conference, which was held on the campus of the University of Nairobi. This project, supported by FISU through its development plan, was attended by academic authorities and many students. During this academic conference the FISU First Vice-President, Mr Oleg Matytsin, thanked the University of Nairobi for organising the conference.

FISU 1st Vice-President MatytsinHe highlighted the importance of sharing and exchanging experiences. The unity of universities which share a clear vision through sport can contribute to the development of peace. These conferences are also important for FISU because they give the opportunity to show the specificities of university sport. He then concluded his speech by wishing all the best to the participants.

FASU President, Mr Ralethe Malumbete, was delighted by the success of this conference and thanked the academic authorities and the Kenyan University Sport Association (KUSA) for organising the Games and the conference. He also reminded the audience that Kenya had already organised the FASU Games in 1978.FISU Vice-President Bergh

 

The conference then started with the presentation of Ms Peninnah Kabenge, FASU Secretary-General, of the evolution and the projects of FASU. Afterwards, 28 topics were presented by professors and students.
The FISU representatives and the other guests were invited to attend a demonstration of sitting volleyball, which showed that disabled students can also fully enjoy competitive spirit. All the spectators were captivated by this intense match.FASU President Ralethe Malumbete
