Prepping the 13th FISU Forum 2016

3 July 2014

MONTPELLIER – As part of the preparation of the 13th FISU Forum (#FISUForum2016) to be held in Montpellier (France) from 4 to 9 July, 2016, representatives of FISU (Alison Odell, Nico Sperle and Kolë Gjeloshaj) conducted a three-day inspection visit in the host city. They were welcomed by Jean-François Sautereau, President of the French University Sports Federation (FFSU), accompanied for the occasion by members of the board, François Rognon, Christophe Millard and Damien Bardot, as well as local FFSU representatives and delegates of the local organizing committee, including Serge Pravossoudovitch Luigi Biafora, Arnaud Richard and Camille Ricaud.

This visit aimed to define a roadmap setting out the objectives and themes of the next Forum, and visit the places in which representatives of some 70 countries will be welcomed to discuss the main theme of the Forum, i.e. ‘University and Sport: from the Origins towards the Future of University Sport’.

Delegates had the opportunity to visit the universities of Montpellier (I, II and III) as well as the student residences, and to select the locations for the Forum ceremonies. The FISU delegates also visited the towns of Sète and Grande Motte, to study the possibility of organizing cultural and sport activities.
