LAUSANNE – FISU President Claude-Louis Gallien was officially appointed as an expert to the Commission for Culture and Olympic Education of the International Olympic Committee. The role of this Commission is to advise the IOC on the promotion of culture and Olympic education and to support the IOC programmes and activities related to the education of youth through sport. Founded in 2000 and chaired by Lambis V. Nikolaou, the Commission has two main objectives, namely to develop the links between sport and culture in all its forms, to encourage cultural exchanges and to promote the diversity of cultures. It also promotes Olympic education and supports other institutions which adhere to the values of Olympism.
