7th FASU Games attributed to Kenya

NAIROBI The executive committee of FASU has unanimously approved the University of Nairobi as the host of the 7th FASU Games 2014 on behalf of the Kenya University Sports Association (KUSA). This followed various engagements between KUSA, the University of Nairobi and FASU that started early 2013 culminating into taking this decision.

Mr. Mbabu Murithi, the KUSA President and Director of sports & games at the University of Nairobi gave a detailed account of the preparations for the games scheduled to take place from 11th July 2014 during a FASU Executive meeting session held at the Nairobi Safari Club on 12 March, 2014.

The competition programme of the 7th edition of the FASU Games shall include; Athletics, Basketball, Badminton, Chess, Karate, Netball (Women only), Soccer, Swimming, Table Tennis, Tennis and Volleyball as compulsory sports; Rugby 7’s, Handball and Taekwondo as Optional Sports with Sitting Volleyball, Woodball and American Football as Demonstration Sports.
