LAUSANNE – Today, 14 January, a delegation from the Federation of Student Sport of the Kyrgyz Republic visited the headquarters of FISU in Lausanne, Switzerland, where they met with FISU Secretary General/CEO Eric Saintrond and offered a commemorative book dedicated to the 10 year anniversary of the Federation.
Since 2003 the Federation of Student Sport of the Kyrgyz Republic participated in various FISU events and achieved good results. At the Universiade in Kazan the Kyrgyz team has taken 26th place in the ranking of 162 participating countries having won 12 medals (2 gold, 2 silver and 8 bronze).
After the Universiade Almazbek Atambaev, President of the Kyrgyz Republic, rewarded medal winners and some members of the Federation with governmental awards.
Nurbek Akanov and Nulan Kojobekov, champions of the 2013 Summer Universiade, as well as Sharshen Kasenov, President of the Kyrgyz NUSF, were rewarded with the Golden Orders of the Olympic Committee and with medals of the International Confederation of Sport Organizations.
