MONTEVIDEO – The Senate honoured the National University League to commemorate the century of the institution. The event was held on 3 December at the Legislative Palace in Montevideo.
The VicePresident of Uruguay, Danilo Astori, led the event, along with several political authorities and personalities of the Uruguayan sport scene and the University League.
Representatives of the three political parties highlighted at the Senate the significance of the Centenary of the League, and qualified it as “a national reference”.
“The significant role played by the University League in civic nation building must be recognized and remarked, especially in its centenary”, said Gustavo Penadés, one of the senate members.
