Two Flag Bearers for France

Pernelle Carron and Lloyd Jones, flag bearers for FrancePARIS – The France delegation for Trentino 2013 counts 37 student-athletes competing in seven disciplines, i.e. biathlon, figure skating, snowboarding, cross country skiing, freestyle skiing and short track.

The delegation will walk behind two flag bearers at the Opening Ceremony: Pernelle Carron and Lloyd Jones, the number two ice dancing couple in France and who will be competing a the Sochi Winter Olympics in 2014.

After Jean -Pierre Vidal, gold medallist at the 1999 Winter Universiade in Proprad and Olympic slalom champion in 2002; Nathalie Pechalat and Fabian Bourzat, bronze medallists in ice dancing at the WU in Tarvisio (2003) and Innsbruck (2005) and European champions in 2011 and 2012; or Perrine Pelen, gold medallist at the 1981 WU in Jaca and Olympic slalom champion in 1984, this year the godfather of ‘Les Bleus’ will be Thibaut Fauconnet, gold medallist in short track at the 2011 WU in Erzurum and currently qualified also for the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi.
