« Sporting Events in the near future – this is not only the key theme of tonight and the following two days. It’s the daily business of FISU. We have to secure a high number of bidding cities and hosts for approximately 65 events every four years », Leonz Eder said in his opening speech.
. « City Events is a platform to showcase FISU sport events and efficiently and cost-effectively create new connections with cities. From a FISU perspective City Events also offers the opportunity to network with our International Federation partners and learn from some of the world’s best companies in sport such as PWC, RepuCom and Populous and from our fellow organizers such as the X-Games ».

The programme of the day today included many conferences around the themes: ‘Stadiums, Arenas, Infrastructure: Heritage and innovative concepts’; ‘Optimize and/or renovate existing sites’; ‘Using temporary facilities and accommodate an outdoor event’; ‘Manage the budget of a sporting event’; ‘Optimizing the management of the operational budget’; ‘Measuring the return on investment’.
