MACEIO – Luciano Cabral and Neto Alim Rachid Maluf were elected as president and vice-president of the Brazilian University Sport Confederation (CBDU). By acclamation of the CBDU General Assembly, Luciano and Alim will lead CBDU in the period 2013-2017.
Luis Carlos Novi, member emeritus of CBDU, led the election. “This year I complete 40 years of university sports as an athlete, official and a passionate about the sport and the youth. For me it is an honor to be part of this moment of CBDU”, Novi said.
FISU Vice-President Luciano Cabral starts now his third mandate as head of CBDU since 2004. “Thank you all for your trust and for this opportunity to work more in favor of university sports. A harmonious relationship with the University Sports Federations and the involvement and participation of presidents and officials gives the board support for running projects. We have two major challenges for this mandate: consolidate the Brazilian University Games (JUBs) and run the application of Brazil and Brasilia to host the 2019 Summer Universiade, crowning our management with this victory”, said Luciano.
Alim Neto, secretary-general of the organization, assumed the vice-presidency of CBDU. “I appreciate the confidence of the board and I make the commitment to be present, helping states and federations that are the mainstay of CBDU”.
Presidents and representatives of the University Sports Federations from all Brazilian states also approved at the Annual General Meeting (AGO) the accountability of the 2012 season and discussed details about the formats and procedures for CBDU events. The Assembly of CBDU was held in the auditorium of the Ritz Hotel Suites, in Maceió (AL), on March 16th.
