A special guest was present as well: Pierre Petitjean, the son of Jean Petitjean, the pioneer of the international university sport movement who had organised the first World Student Games in Paris in May 1923. He was presented with a replica of a bronze plaque depicting the face of his father and a replica of the vintage poster of the University Games in Paris that his father had hosted. Mr. Petitjean donated the archives of his father to the FISU archives, which provides a wealth of information about the early days of the international university sport movement.

FISU President Claude-Louis Gallien, who personally knew Jean Petitjean as the president of his university sports club PUC and as a member of the French delegation at the 1967 Summer Universiade in Tokyo, which Mr. Gallien had attended as a student-athlete, enchanted the guests with some amusing anecdotes on this university sport pioneer.
