
KUORTANE – The 10th World University Wrestling Championship which will start on October 2nd in Kuortane (FIN) high performance center is in the starting blocks.
After the arrival of the first teams including USA, Japan, France and Hungary, the accreditation procedure have started to enable the athletes to compete in good conditions.
The high performance center located next to lake Kuortane in central Finland is an extensive venue including all the facilities and accommodation for a smooth organisation and will guarantee all participants the best conditions to perform at a top level.

The competition venue is being set-up and its three mats will host fights everyday from 13.00 to 21.30 (local time). The training venue is already functional and the first teams have started to practice to be ready for the first fights to be held on Tuesday.

Kuortane is famous for its wrestling tradition and this event is expected to be a real success in terms of performance but also in terms of attendance as local people know wrestling and they like it, the president of the Organising Committee Mr. Kimmo Yli-Jaskari told FISU Media. The president of the OC also mentioned that a partnership with the local wrestling clubs will enable to have trained volunteers and supporters on the competition.
The competition will start on Tuesday, October 2nd at 13.00 local time.
